Interpretation
The interesting rhyme is function: a body finding a direction from field and sky. The mechanism is not shared with canoes, gospels, or epics. Biology is not a metaphor for navigation until we say so, and even then it remains biology.

Known biological. Magnetic and stellar compasses in birds are experimental findings. Details of the receptor are still researched. The existence of orientation, not a complete molecular story, is what holds here.
